Nintendo Has Now Sold Over 10 Million Nintendo Switch Units Worldwide

Current Switch sales in just the last 9 months have even seen it surpass the total sales of the Wii-U in that consoles entire lifespan.

With manufacturing sorted out and the holiday season approaching, the Switch is poised to keep up with the Wii, which moved more than 100 million units in its lifetime.

Nintendo is aiming for number one!

Looking at the Switch library of games now, compared to nine months ago, you'd be forgiven for believing I'm talking about an entirely different console. The Nintendo Switch carries a list price of $300.

This means that consumers all around the world since its availability on March 3rd, 2017 purchased well over the 10 million units.

The Japanese company has made a tremendous comeback following the underwhelming Wii U, which only managed to sell 13.56 million units during its 4 year life-span.

First, it can let the player either play games on it as a handheld like a Game Boy Advance. While first-party exclusives are a big deal, many other developers are also supporting the console with third-party titles.

Switch did rather well over Black Friday weekend despite the lack of discounts, according to previous data crunching, and the holiday shopping season isn't over by a long shot.

The Switch has been supported by one of the strongest software launches in Nintendo history. With the growth of digital download services since the Wii's launch, it's likely that Switch owners already own a lot more games than their Wii counterparts may have ever done. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, ARMS, and Splatoon 2 were all also fantastic first party additions coming out of Nintendo's camp.
