Gujarat Polls: EVMs are tampered: Hardik

Patidar leader Hardik Patel alleged the BJP played an "unfair game" by "tampering" with EVMs and using "money power" to win Gujarat elections.

Questions raised about EVM tampering had already been answered, Joti said, adding that voting had been conducted through voter verified paper audit trails (VVPATs) that enabled people to see who they had voted for.

Meanwhile, Gujarat Chief Election Commissioner B B Swain dismissed all the allegations levelled by Hardik and claimed that EVMs can't be tampered.

He also said if EVMs were not tampered with then the exit polls' results, which showed Bharatiya Janata Party's victory in the state polls, would be proven wrong. "All beware, this is a big threat to Indian democracy", the president of the Mumbai unit of the Congress said in a tweet.

The BJP is set to form the its sixth government in Gujarat, with latest numbers showing the party to have won four seats, and ahead in 98 of 182 seats.
