Lower Gas Prices For Holiday Travelers

Ohio's gas prices were down 8.1 cents since last week's average.

And here's some good news for travelers: Gas prices keep falling.

Just in time for the holidays, gas prices in Florida have finally returned to pre-Hurricane Irma levels.

The average price for a gallon of regular gas in the Bradenton-Sarasota-Venice market was $2.35 on Sunday, down 4 cents from last week and 13 cents from a month ago, though they remain 5 cents above previous year, AAA reported Monday.

Almost 2.7 million people will be traveling this holiday in the Washington metro area - a 3.5 percent increase over travelers in 2016, according to AAA Mid-Atlantic.

In Broward County, gas under $2.30 could be found along Federal Highway between Hillsboro Boulevard in Deerfield Beach and Atlantic Avenue in Pompano Beach, as well as along Sample Road, Commercial Boulevard, State Road 7, Broward Boulevard and Davie Boulevard.

With millions of Americans traveling during the Christmas and New Year's holidays, experts do not believe there will be an increase in gas prices, but rather a potential decrease.

Average retail gasoline prices in Chattanooga dropped another 3.3 cents per gallon in the past week as Chattanooga continued to offer motorists the cheapest fuel in Tennessee. The U.S. average is almost 20 cents higher than this time previous year.

In Boone, gas prices on Sunday December 17th were around 2.34 a gallon.

Drivers can expect pump prices to continue to drop heading into the holiday season as supply strengthens and fall gasoline demand weakens.
