Spotify facing $1.6B lawsuit from Tom Petty, Neil Young's publisher

Wixen represents a catalogue of over 50,000 songs by artists such as The Doors, Rage Against the Machine, Tom Petty, Weezer, Neil Young, and more. The company claims that Spotify is streaming "tens of thousands" of Wixen songs ("Free Fallin'" included), without proper compensation or licensing, and not-so-kindly asks that Spotify now pay its tab.

Wixen's lawsuit comes six months after Spotify reached a proposed $43.4 million settlement to resolve a class-action lawsuit with songwriters and publishers led by David Lowery and Melissa Ferrick. De la Rocha, Morello, Auerbach, Cuomo and Gordon were amongst those who objected to that ruling.

Police looking for two missing juveniles in relation to a suspicious death
If you have any information regarding this abduction, call the Round Rock Police Department at 512-218-5516 or local authorities. Griffith is 5 feet tall and 100 pounds, with light brown hair, brown eyes, braces and a stud on the right side of her nose.

"The Settlement Agreement is procedurally and substantively unfair to Settlement Class Members because it prevents meaningful participation by rights holders and offers them an unfair dollar amount in light of Spotify's ongoing, willful copyright infringement of their works."
In addition to the massive sum of money listed in the suit, Wixen also is also seeking an injunctive relief that would legally require Spotify to "develop and implement procedures for identifying and properly licensing songs".

Another lawsuit was brought against Spotify previous year, spearheaded by Bob Gaudio - a founding member of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. What Spotify failed to do, according to the lawsuit, was "obtain the equivalent rights for the compositions".

Vaccinations in United Kingdom may do little to halt deadly 'Aussie flu'
The HSE has revealed a number of people have died from the flu as cases of the strong "Aussie" strain doubled in just one week. The H3N2 subtype, which is a strain of influenza A , triggered two and a half times the normal number of cases in Australia.

Additionally, Spotify was hit with two more lawsuits where the plaintiffs claim that Spotify hadn't fully complied with obligations under Section 115 of the U.S. Copyright Act.

New Year's Day Will End with Another 'Supermoon' Spectacle
Paranjpye further said the best time to watch the supermoon (or for that matter any full moon) is when it rises and sets. It will appear brighter and bigger than a usual full moon because it will be closer to the time of perigee.
