There's A Flight That Took Off In 2018 And Landed In 2017

The passengers are *actual* time travellers though- give their aircraft's speed their watches will run slower relative to those of us not onboard.

It is understood that on a daily basis, flights that "travel in time" are dozens.

The flight, which travelled between Auckland, New Zealand and Honolulu, Hawaii, was scheduled to depart at 11.55 pm on Sunday, Dec. 31, 2017. However, the flight had to cross the International Date Line to reach Hawaii, where it landed on 31st December, 2017.

Time travel is only possible in science fiction movies, as scientists are yet to invent a device for that goal, but, in a rather unusual phenomenon, the passengers and crew of a Hawaiian flight went back in time - from New Year 2018 to 2017.

It's not so complicated and apparently very common.

Thanks to the location of the global date line, Honolulu is 23 hours behind Auckland. Out of hundreds on board, a journalist from Washington was the first one to notice the time difference.

Not only did the passengers aboard this flight get to technically travel back in time, they also got to experience the last day of the year 2017 all over again.

If you love New Year's Eve so much you want to celebrate twice, you might consider taking this flight next year. Eight hours later, when it landed in Honolulu, it was still December 31, 2017.
