Defending champions Chelsea had agreed a £35m fee with the Toffees last August but the move fell apart.

ROSS BARKLEY is expected to move to Chelsea TODAY - with Antonio Conte all but confirming the news at a press conference.

Just an hour prior to that, Law had tweeted that Chelsea had made a new bid, but with talks "accelerating", there is now a sense that the deal could be done as soon as today (Friday).

Upon signing for Chelsea, Barkley told Chelsea's website: 'I'm overwhelmed, I'm looking forward to it and I'm really excited to get started.

He said: 'For sure we're talking about a young player, an English player.

Club director Marina Granovskaia added: "Ross is a player we have long admired and are certain he will prove to be an important player for Chelsea".
