All other students and teachers in the middle school are safe and have not been released. High schoolers in the district were also evacuated.

Information regarding the threat first came in about 10 minutes before the shooting, which took place around 7:51 a.m.

The school district said a Jackson Memorial Middle School student suffered an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound and Safety Services were called to the scene.
