Formula One world champion Lewis Hamilton concedes his fierce rivalry with Ferrari driver Sebastian Vettel "could be worse" in 2018.

The presentation at a snow-covered Maranello came on the same day as Mercedes' launch at Silverstone, as the rival teams compete for media attention even before a wheel is turned in official testing.

While the Brackley team are on a run of four consecutive title doubles, Ferrari will complete a full decade without either world championship should they ultimately leave 2018 empty-handed.

The new auto appears to be a design evolution of last year's successful vehicle.

Vettel added: "I don't think the halo will bother, I think it's much less intrusive than I thought".

For example I would mention we tried to develop the auto to be strong and performant on high-speed circuits, but also improve reliability.

And Binotto says Ferrari also found the introduction of the Halo to be a major area of focus when trying to minimize its impact on the car's aerodynamics. "You get used to it", Raikkonen said.

"Our goal is to always be faster".

"The step that we have done in 2017 was incredible", he said. "The SF71H has a tighter auto body and has been built to perform in high-speed circuits", said Ferrari's technical director, Mattia Binotto.

"We're capable I'm certain", said team principal Maurizio Arrivabene.

It features Ferrari's traditional red livery, with the colour white mostly absent from this auto in contrast to its immediate predecessors.
