A day after his party performed exceptionally well in the Assembly elections in three northeastern States, the BJP national president Amit Shah on Sunday visited the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) headquarters here to meet senior RSS leaders, including the Sarasanghchalak (chief) Mohan Bhagwat.
Shah sought to point out that the party's vote share had crossed the 50 per cent mark, including their alliance partner Indigenous People's Front of Tripura, from a lowly 1.54 per cent. BJP's first victory in Tripura elections halted a 25-year uninterrupted rule of Communist Party of India (Marxist), in what was largely a direct fight between BJP and CPM.
