As FOX 11 reported on the legal battle between local nuns and Katy Perry over a Los Feliz convent, we learned that one of the nuns involved in the case collapsed and died Friday during a court proceeding related to the case.
During an interview in 2015, she explained: "After she spoke [about] her lifestyle, and what we have been teaching for years and our older sisters have been teaching, and what we believe in, [she] just did not fit".
She and Sister Rita Callanan claimed to have documents from the Vatican which proved they were the rightful owners of the 1927-built Bernard Maybeck-designed compound, which they had lived in since 1978. "We extend our prayers today to the Immaculate Heart of Mary community and to all her friends and loved ones", a statement from the archdiocese read.

A nun involved in a years-long legal dispute with pop star Katy Perry over a sprawling 8-acre former convent died in court Friday, according to The Associated Press. Instead, the sisters wanted to sell the property to Hollister who meant to turn the convent into a boutique hotel.
Holzman and Cullanan, among five nuns who had lived at the convent, had sought to sell the property for $15.5 million to restaurateur Dana Hollister, who wanted to convert the property into a hotel. A jury saw it Katy's way. awarding her and the Archdioceses $10 mil back in December. But in December, a jury ordered that Hollister pay nearly $10 million in compensatory damages to the Archdiocese of Los Angeles and Perry for interfering in the Archdiocese's sale of the property to the "Swish Swish" singer.
Another of the nun's concerns is with the singer herself.
