The North Carolina Tar Heels will take on the Virginia Cavaliers in the ACC Tournament Final on Saturday, start time at 8:30 PM ET, at Barclays Center, Brooklyn, NY.

The Cavaliers (31-2, 17-1 ACC) won't get the luxury of facing a team that is playing in the First Four despite being the No. 1 overall seed. They also avenged a loss to the Tar Heels in the 2016 championship game and gave coach Tony Bennett his second crown in three title-game appearances. Sophomore forward Mamadi Diakite and senior guard Devon Hall both reached double-figures in scoring for the second game of the tournament with 10 points each. "It speaks to how tough we are".

Virginia Tech, one of the two teams to defeat Virginia this season, earned one of the 36 at-large bids and one of the ACC's nine total bids, the most by a single conference this year.

Virginia (31-2) made 53 percent of its three-point shots, sank 20 of 22 free throws, committed only four turnovers and, in a game that felt tight nearly the entire way, let the Tar Heels (25-10) get only one possession in the second half in which it could tie the score or take the lead.

Patriots acquire DT Danny Shelton from the Browns
One day after trading for Jarvis Landry , Tyrod Taylor , and Damarious Randall , the Browns are back on the trade market. Yes, the Patriots defense did overcome a shaky start and their rankings could be perceived as deceptive.

It's pretty insane to look back now to De'Andre Hunter's buzzer-beater at Louisville and see how much it changed the outlook of the NCAA Tournament.

But Maye finished with 20 points as Virginia went with smaller lineups that could harass all of North Carolina's shooters around the arc without exiting the team scheme. Garrison Brooks made a pair of free throws with 11:43 to play to cut the deficit to 48-46. Redshirt freshman guard De'Andre Hunter was crucial in sparking Virginia's 16 unanswered points with his seven points in the half. "So we've got to go in there and try to play the ideal game and play as close as we can possibly play to that, then we'll have a chance to win". The Tar Heels are 33-1 in NCAA games played in their home state.

"A lot of really good players that know how to play and play the right way - that are great defensively".

"That speaks to our defense and how we stand to get back and build a wall", Hall said.

Williams says, "They're the No. 1 team in the country". They also won the battle of tempo in that one, as they controlled the pace and limited the Heels to just 59 offensive possessions, which was by far their lowest of the season. Just as Virginia showed it was capable of holding on to their lead against the Cardinals in the earlier round, the Cavaliers demonstrated the same thing against the Tigers (23-9) in the semis.

And, despite all Virginia has accomplished this season - going from unranked in the preseason to No. 1 and winning both ACC titles after being picked to finish sixth in the league - the Cavaliers said they're not within a half-court heave of being satisfied.

"I'm not using anything as an excuse because Virginia beat our tails", he continued.
