Globally, the film has earned north of $1.2 billion to date.

Black Panther won its fifth consecutive weekend this past week over new releases A Wrinkle in Time and Tomb Raider, marking the first time any movie has won five straight weekends at the box office since Avatar in 2009.

Early projections for Black Panther's box office premiere had the movie at a solid $120 million, but the movie came out and destroyed those predictions by earning over $200 million, shocking the industry.

Dutch police detain 25 England supporters for violence
Authorities have confirmed that nearly one hundred fans were arrested and held overnight for offences including public disorder. The FA said any of its members identified as causing trouble would be banned from the organisation.

The latest milestone for Black Panther (NYSE:DIS): becoming North America's top-grossing superhero film of all time. Additionally, The Last Jedi did $619,896,809, which means that Black Panther has now already passed the Star Wars movie with its sights set on the Avengers, which it will easily take down by Sunday.

Black Panther reached $630 million (£445.6 million) in earnings on Saturday, flying past the $623.4 million (£440.9 million) earned by first outing of Tony Stark and pals to become the highest grossing superhero movie ever in the country. Box Office Mojo has yet to update its lists. Also, Black Panther has become the second biggest comic book Adaptation behind The Avengers.

In our social media age, success is not just measured in dollars, but also in engagement, and Black Panther has dominated in both categories.
