Last-gasp Carroll strike rescues Hammers

West Ham keep Stoke at arms-length after Andy Carroll's last-minute goal salvaged what could prove to be a vital point in their bid to avoid the drop.

Carroll's late strike spares the blushes of teammate Joe Hart, whose mistake allows Peter Crouch - another second-half substitute - to put Stoke ahead in the 79th.

Stoke are four points short of the safety zone and desperately need to win their remaining games.

Report and reaction to follow.

Following a disastrous game at home to Burnley - on and off the pitch - West Ham have bounced back in fine style, thrashing fellow relegation candidates Southampton 3-0 at the London Stadium before drawing with champions Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

The 29-year-old has suffered horrendous luck with injuries over the last few years, however, and they have really hampered his progress during his time in east London.

He said: "I tried to bring it down and it did hit my hand but it was because of a shove which might even have been a penalty". "With the atmosphere in stadium, it is a hard place to come but I thought we were excellent".

Moyes said: "He had two very similar shots in the first half and he took them quite comfortably in his midriff".

But he has its 'full support'
While Fox News higher-ups aren't concerned about the conflict of interest, a regular guest on Hannity's show is. He only has three clients and apparently he works for free. "What else haven't you been telling us?"

The Stoke man benefited from an error by West Ham stopper Joe Hart, who spilled Xherdan Shaqiri's initial shot into the path of Crouch, who tapped home.

West Ham's attacking pressure eventually told, though, Carroll showing poise and balance to volley a Cresswell cross beyond the reach of Butland to earn his side a point. "We took points off them, and it's a point for us, so it was a good result in the end".

"For the team, for us, at the time it was hard because it meant we had to go and look to change after we had been the dominant team, apart from the first five or 10 minutes of the second half". I feel good, but that's up to the manager.

Considering Stoke boss Paul Lambert had said pre-match his side needed to win three of their final five games to stay up it was surprising they seemed to show little attacking intent for much of the game and Jack Butland was by far the busier goalkeeper. David Moyes' short-term contract is due to expire next month, paving the way for the Hammers board to implement changes as they see fit.
