British tourists kidnapped by gang in Congo have been RELEASED

Britain's Foreign Office said on Friday it was in contact with the Congolese authorities following an incident involving two British nationals and its staff were providing support to their families.

The pair were taken hostage on Friday during a visit to Virunga National Park, a Unesco-protected gorilla sanctuary in the east of the country.

UK Foreign Office said on Sunday that the two British tourists being held hostage in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) had been released. I have not yet gotten the details but I can confirm that they have been released, " said Mbongo.
