A SHOCKING video circulating on social media appears to show a priest slapping a baby across the face while baptising the child.
The video shows the mother holding the baby while the Catholic priest is performing the baptism. "This is in front of cameras, what would happen behind the scenes when you leave a priest and a child alone?" one person wrote.
The family's shock becomes evident when the priest slaps the baby across the face. The family remained quiet for a few moments after the incident, but then the baby is grabbed out of the priest's arms by the child's father.
Finally, the man believed to be the child's father interjects, and removes the child from the situation before the video cuts out.
