Former Manchester United defender Wes Brown has suggested that Paul Pogba will stay put at Old Trafford this season amid reported interest from elsewhere. The Catalan club are working on deals to sell Aleix Vidal, Yerry Mina, Andre Gomes and Paco Alcacer to raise the funds to bring in the World Cup victor.

In an interview with ESPN FC two weeks ago, Mourinho questioned why Pogba's performances in Russian Federation were so much better than his displays for United last season.

Pogba would consider either a move to Barcelona or a return to Juventus if given the option, the sources added, as the midfielder is unhappy with some of his manager's comments made during the club's tour of the United States.

Both Barcelona and Juventus are making late moves for Pogba, with agent Mino Raiola presenting a player-plus-cash offer worth around £100m from the Catalan giants after flying in to Manchester.

Mourinho was in Russian Federation on punditry duty and offered little in the way of praise for Pogba, while during a pre-season interview with beIN Sports he suggested the midfielder "started average". With that out of the way he's coming good though we all know he can do even better.

Where he's with his team on the training camp, completely isolated from the external world, where they focus just on football, where the dimensions of the game can only motivate. However, the deadline in England is 5pm on Thursday, leaving United little or no time to sign a replacement unless they meant to replace him with new £52m signing Fred.

Barca coach Ernesto Valverde refused to deny his club were interested in signing Pogba over the weekend, as he offered this answer to when quizzed about the midfielder.
