North Korea condemns new USA sanctions

North Korea on Thursday accused the United States of acting in bad faith, saying Washington's push for full sanctions pressure against Pyongyang would stall progress on the denuclearisation of the Korean Peninsula.

Pyongyang's Foreign Minister Ri Yong-ho is now on a visit to Iran where President Hassan Rouhani warned the United States could not be trusted after Tehran's experience of having the Trump administration tear up an Obama-era deal to ease sanctions.

"This is all in North Korea's court", Haley told reporters traveling with her during a visit to Colombia.

"The U.S. administration performance in these years has led the country to be considered untrustworthy and unreliable around the world which does not meet any of its obligations", Rouhani was quoted by the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) as telling Ri on Wednesday.

Provincial government defends move to axe basic income pilot project
While Regehr doesn't think Ottawa should be bailing Ford out, "if he really refuses and will not budge, participants in this pilot shouldn't suffer", she said .

The report said: "North Korea has not stopped its nuclear and missile programs and continued to defy Security Council resolutions".

The two sides vowed to work towards North Korea's denuclearisation at the summit, but have since struggled to reach a deal to meet that goal, with the United States insisting sanctions pressure must be maintained.

North Korea warned Thursday that there could be no progress in its denuclearization as it accused some senior USA officials of trying to strengthen worldwide sanctions on Pyongyang.

Pyongyang has also stepped up its calls for a formal end to the Korean War, which some analysts believe is meant to be the first step in the North's effort to eventually see all 28,500 US troops leave the Korean Peninsula. "It's just North Korea that has not taken the steps we feel are necessary to denuclearize".

China places tariffs on another $16B worth of USA goods
The Chinese counter-move will take effect immediately after the United States imposes tariffs on the same amount of Chinese goods. China deprives USA companies of the ability to set market-based terms in licensing and other technology-related negotiations.

But there was no financial transaction made, which would constitute another violation of the United Nations sanctions, as the companies took coal in return for mediating trade between North Korea and Russia, Roh said.

The rival Koreas plan to hold high-level talks on Monday to prepare for a third summit between their leaders, as Pyongyang called on the United States to reciprocate its "goodwill measures" by easing sanctions and stopping demands that the North denuclearize first.

"Expecting any result, while insulting the dialogue partner and throwing cold water over our honest efforts for building confidence which can be seen as a precondition for implementing the [North Korean]-U.S. joint statement, is indeed a foolish act that amounts to waiting to see a boiled egg hatch out", the statement read.

"We hoped that these goodwill measures would contribute to breaking down the high barrier of mistrust existing between the DPRK and the USA and to establishing mutual trust. The U.S. should, even at this belated time, respond to our honest efforts in a corresponding manner".

Manchester United turn down Barcelona offer for Paul Pogba
But this isn't the first time the 25-year-old's future at Old Trafford has been in doubt. I think the World Cup is the flawless habitat for a player like him to give the best.
