Man shot after pulling gun outside Ice Cube concert, sheriff says

A sheriff's deputy on Sunday shot a man who appeared to be firing a weapon into the air outside a gate leading into a scheduled Ice Cube concert at the Del Mar Racetrack.

The San Diego County Sheriff's Department confirms a deputy shot a suspect near the racetrack entrance, but did not immediately comment on the events leading up to the shooting.

The shooting, which occurred during the final race of the day, created a chaotic scene at the venue.
