Samsung launches A9, world's first smartphone with four rear cameras

Samsung on Thursday officially announced the 2018 Galaxy A9 smartphone.

Images of the Galaxy A9 were leaked ahead of today's launch by Evan Blass and German site AllAboutSamsung, which filled in details of a claim by phone leaker Ice Universe in September that Samsung was cooking up a four-camera phone. Customers can pick up the device in Caviar Black, Lemonade Blue, and Bubblegum Pink.

"Talking about the specifications, the Galaxy A9 (2018) sports a 6.3" Super AMOLED display with Full HD+ (1080 x 2220 pixels) resolution. According to the result page, the device will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor paired with Adreno 512 GPU and 6GB of RAM. A 3,800mAh battery powers the phone.

The Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018) is a dual SIM (GSM) smartphone that accepts Nano-SIM and Nano-SIM. The smartphone runs Android Oreo 8.0 out-of-the-box and comes with a triple card slot.

LG now hold the record for the most cameras on a smartphone with the V40 ThinQ and its seems Samsung has chose to take it a step further. Samsung didn't mention what chip it is using but for United Kingdom models we suspect it'll be one of Sammy's own Exynos SoCs.
